This coronavirus was already unpredictable, scary, and annoying. NOW, it has gotten personal by messing with my beloved Community Wellness Hour (CWH). Out of an abundance of caution and, in response to CDC recommendations, AOMA has paused the CWH. All updates will be posted on the AOMA website and the school is committed to bringing back this community resource as soon as it is safe to do so.
It seems like more and more places are closing their doors and encouraging people to stay home. This is prudent for reducing viral spread, but is the downside of isolation is, well. . . isolation. Humans are such a relational species that it seems we are in a situation where we have to balance physical health with mental health.
Humans are also a reactionary species, and you’ve probably noticed that people are stockpiling certain supplies. I’ve heard multiple stories of stores being sold out of hand sanitizer. Luckily, I came across this article on how to make a doctor-approved DIY hand sanitizer, which I plan to try asap. Even when this corona virus runs its course, I hope we will all maintain the level of hand hygiene we’ve recently committed to maintaining. This little sanitizer may become to newest addition to my ever expanding purse! I’ll keep you posted on the results.
Have fun & be safe.
